Love this, still relying on the crutch of “if I will do 3 more exercises I get to listen to this until the end”. Definitely not calling or texting anyone and if I get a glimpse of someone trying to contact me, which happens, it feels very intrusive. A part of me fantasises about walks with nothing to listen to, just my thoughts, but I am too scared I will be done in 10 minutes… not quite there yet!
My experience is very similar to yours! What helps to keep me moving is seeing the progress. A little more weight on the barbell, a muscle that I didnt know that existed suddenly became noticeable, the better posture that now became effortless….
Oh..and I do not take my phone into the gym. I am not be reached and left the planet for that hour….

For sure, it’s just that this takes time to see… delayed gratification. I need to trick myself into doing the next set and next workout, right now 😊
